Exterior of Eclipse Inn
A selection of real ales, many from local brewers, is always on tap, and all the food is home-made and freshly prepared to order; the choice runs from filled rolls and panini to hearty pies and casseroles.

In the heart of historic Winchester, The Eclipse is open all day, every day, offering excellent hospitality to local residents and to the many visitors who come to explore the city throughout the year. For the former, it is a well-loved `local', a place to enjoy a drink and to put the world to rights, or to take a break from business or shopping in the middle of the city. For the latter, it is a welcome spot to pause for refreshment on a tour of one of the country's most interesting and historic cities. For many years the building was the rectory of St Lawrence's Church, and it has been a public house since 1890. Behind the black and white frontage with handsome timbers and small-paned windows, original oak beams, oak settles and an open fireplace create a delightfully traditional ambience in which to relax and enjoy a drink and something to eat.
